No time limits on online galleries - building relationships

I believe that good business is about building relationships, especially as a photographer. I have heard several "horror stories" from clients about their experiences with large studios who allegedly threaten to delete the images for good if you don't purchase them then and there at the viewing session, or that in order to get the shots you want, you have to purchase very expensive prints. Obviously these businesses will have a core of fans who like what they do (all businesses do).

But from what I've heard from people and some web research that I have done has suggested that the majority of their customers are enticed in with "special offers", taken advantage of and never go back. No need for good practices or building trust, they can just prey on the next in line.

When creating my Photo Store, I made a point of obtaining enough web space to store my clients' galleries for an indefinite period. I believed that my clients would appreciate being able to browse and purchase the images long after the shoot if they wanted to. I predict that I currently have enough web space to store the images from all my clients' shoots for the next three years.

So it really pleased me when last week, around four months after their photos first went online, one of my clients purchased another shot from their gallery. Ultimatley it's a win-win situation; I get suprise sales and my clients get to buy what they want, when they want without any pressure.
