I spent last weekend in Carmarthenshire, Wales. After the shots I got last time I went, I was raring to go up into the mountains and get some more. We drove up Betws mountain looking for places for good shots.
There never seems to be enough time when we visit for the weekend, and as such I adopt my 'guerilla landscapes' style of photography (turn up, shoot quickly with no tripod). This particular image was shot about 500 yards from the car. I loved the barren look and wandered down the valley trying to get a good perspective on the pylons. I fired off several frames when suddenly the heavens opened. I got very wet on the way back up to the car but I didn't really mind as it all comes with the territory of landscape photography and I always feel a sense of peace being out shooting in environments and conditions like this. It really re-invigorated my passion for landscape photography and I'm now hoping to spend a week in Wales purely for shooting, the question is 'when?'.
