New Website for 2009 (part 2)

Version 4 (March 2009)

Inspired by the new wave of blog engine based websites, I approached the new website design with simplicity and content in mind. Nothing is worse than a website that isn't updated on a regular basis. With my new site you will find that the galleries are always up to date as I can now get new photos up in my galleries sometimes within hours of taking them. As you can see, I am now keeping a regular blog of my "photographic life" in which I will be discussing particular photos I have taken for fun or as part of a photo project, adding write-ups of sessions I have done for clients as well as adding articles of general interest that I feel are relevant to photography. Hopefully my blog will also help potential clients decide whether I am the right photographer for them.

As there are several different types of portrait photography available to my clients, the portraits section is now divided into my four most popular categories, each with its own page clearly detailing the features and showing a gallery of example images as well as the prices.

Another great addition to the new website is the ability to purchase framed prints of selected photos from my portfolio. Each art print will now have its own dedicated page showing an example of the print in its framed form, as well as details of the shot and the ability to purchase the print in several set sizes via Paypal. We all like to browse, so the Art Prints page allows you to browse images by type as well as being able to click on the images in a slideshow that shows all of my prints available for sale. What could be simpler?

Finally, the all important home page shows a slideshow of my best work and has boxes that take you directly to galleries of photo sets I have put together - such as Cold Snaps as well of detailing any promotions, new services and other important bits of information. All in all, I now feel I have a site that I am happy with and that I'm also proud of.... at least for a while!
